A Bad Case of Stripes
David Shannon, David Shannon (2004), Scholastic Paperbacks
Camilla Cream loved lima beans. She never ate them because her friends hate Lima beans and Camilla was always worried about what people thought of her. On the first day of school Camilla was fretting about what to wear, looked in the mirror, and screamed. She was covered in stripes! The doctor couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her, so they made her go to school. All of her classmates made fun of her and her stripes kept changing into the shapes they were yelling out. Specialists and experts couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her and every time they suggested something, Camilla turned into their suggestions. She got worse and worse, until a woman gave her some lima beans. Camilla turned back into herself and didn’t care what people thought of her anymore. She ate lima beans all the time.
